Your dog’s first visit will include a Safety Swim Assessment based on their previous swimming experience. Use the frequently asked questions to understand what to expect during your first visit.
Does my dog need a signed Veterinary Release Form?
A Veterinary Release Form, is included in your packet, and is only required when requested by Soggie Doggie. Dogs currently under veterinary care for a medical or surgical condition may need approval from their veterinarian before swimming. Your veterinarian may also provide specific restrictions or recommendations regarding the length and type of swimming activity.
What should I do before my dog’s appointment?
Please complete and bring all required forms with you, and make sure your dog’s vaccinations are current. A copy of your dog’s vaccination records will be required along with the completed forms. Your dog should be clean and free of dirt or mud before entering the pool.
What should I bring to the swim session?
Please bring towels for drying your dog and a standard leash no longer than six feet. Retractable leashes are not permitted.
You may also bring clean, floatable and non-edible pool toys. Please remove choker, shock and prong collars, along with collars containing tags, before your dog enters the pool area. Owners should wear appropriate clothing and be prepared to get wet if their dog needs assistance.
What happens after my dog passes the safety swim assessment?
Congratulations! You now qualify to receive the link that allows you to schedule your dog’s private swim session at your convenience.
How many dogs will be in the pool during my dog’s session?
All sessions are private and exclusively for you and your dog unless arrangements have been made for a buddy swim.
Can my dog swim with another dog?
Yes. Buddy swims can be arranged in advance. Please let us know whether the dogs live in the same household when scheduling, since different rates may apply. Each dog must have completed the required swimming assessment before participating.
Do I get into the pool with my dog?
Generally, owners do not enter the pool. If your dog is hesitant about entering the water with the instructor, you may be asked to assist in helping your dog feel safe and comfortable.
What happens if my female dog comes into season before an appointment?
Well you can't fight mother nature! Please notify me as soon as you're aware of her condition. You will have to wait a minimum of three weeks before returning for a swim session.

We’ll be happy to help you select the best option based on your dog’s age, swimming experience, comfort level and goals. Contact Soggie Doggie for personalized guidance before scheduling if you are unsure which service to choose.
